Let me explain my system:
WD myworld NAS with Music connected via ethernet to:
Sky Broadband router connected via ethernet to:
Sonos Bridge connected to 2 x S5, 1 x S3, 1 x ZP90 and 1 x ZP120
Apple TV connected via WIFI
My problem is my Wifi speed, if more than one thing is connected one of them is usually very slow, if I play FLAC files through Sonos it often won't play due to insufficient speed etc.
My plan this morning was to go and buy an external router and use that to create my LAN and therefore the Sky router only as a modem.
This got me thinking, I should see an increase in performance of streaming videos via Airplay and transferring files to and from the NAS, BUT will this help with my Sonos issue. The reason I ask is the Sonos creates it own network??? so by increasing the bandwidth on my Wifi will that help the Sonos bandwidth?
Please anyone with advise for this network novice.
Andy
