That matte black sub deal was all I needed to take the plunge - the beast arrives next week. It's going into my living room with my 2 Play:5s and I have been reading up on Sub placement. But I can't find anything on this forum about direct/indirect floor contact options for the Sonos Sub. Posts in other forums debate carpeting vs. no carpeting vs. speaker feet vs. speaker spikes.
I've got hard wood floors with some area rugs and I could easily pick up a carpet square for the Sub if that's a good idea. NOTE: I am NOT looking to maximize the boom factor. I'm only looking to add depth to my listening experience without making enemies of the people in the apartment beneath me. I plan to be extremely cautious with the volume control on this thing.
I know I'll be experimenting with sub placement, but I'm wondering about all those flooring possibilities. Any thoughts on carpet/feet/spikes? Does any of it actually matter? I am a casual music enthusiast and I know next to nothing. Even so, Sonos is slowly but surely sucking me into an appreciation for finer audio. Any advice or helpful comments would be much appreciated.
