I am looking to extend my Sonos setup to my back patio by adding some outdoor speakers. I have some limitations as i cant run wires through the exterior walls (condo community, blah blah) so i need to do this with wireless speakers.
My thoughts are:
1) obviously could buy a Play3/5 and take it out/plug it in as needed since they are not weather proof. I don't have any real overhangs that would protect them so would have to bring inside, etc. Not worst option, but would prefer to leave speakers outdoors all summer...
2) Trying to find a decent setup of wireless speakers and possibly get a Sonos:Connect *inside* the house that would feed audio to a transmitter box then wireless to outdoor speakers. I know outside speakers would need power still.
I have looked around a little bit and seen Rocketfish has a mono setup, and a few smaller setups but most wireless outdoor speakers either are battery only (prefer powered as option at least), require wires between the speakers, or seem very underpowered. I don't mind running power to each speaker as needed.
So looking for advice from anyone with experience with this or something similar. Again, i cant use traditional wired speakers with a Connect:AMP as I cant perm drill through the exterior walls.
Any advice/recommendations???
