Connecting Play 5 to TV

Hi I have just set up sonos play 5 I am using a bridge. I have tried to connect to the TV which is a Panasonic viera tv with a RCA and 3.5 mm jack plug but is does not seem to work. I am not sure how easy it should be to do this but when I plug into the speaker I get no output at all does anyone know how I can do this please.
