Using Sonos without the Internet and Local Network

Can this be done and what are the downsides? This would be for a vacation home and I would run Sonos here as well as my main house.

- I saw a post that mentioned that ongoing updates would not be available and therefore controllers used at the Main Location would likely get out of sync
- can a mobile hotspot be used in place of a home network to accomplish what i need to for the network?
- I understand I will not be able to stream the online music channels over sonos in this vacation house setup.
- other considerations or advice on accomplishing this?
