I currently have a Dell PowerConnect 2816 that has been working with my SONOS system for some time. It appears that the Ethernet Switch is failing as some times I am unable to ping the U-VERSE 3801HGV Residential Gateway. I have replaced the U-VERSE box and everything was working fine after a complete reset until last night when my wired computer loss the connection to the internet. Other computers that are using the U-VERSE wireless connection continue to work correctly. Only those computers directly connected to the Dell PowerConnect. In addition to not being able to ping the U-VERSE box at 192.168.1.254, I am unable to ping the Dell PowerConnect at 192.168.1.30.
I am considering replacing the Dell PowerConnect with the ZyXEL GS1910-24. This switch supports 802.1D STP and 802.1w RSTP and 802.1s MSTP. In addition this switch does not have a fan.
I am looking for comments from SONOS user.
