I currently have all my home devices in a single subnet.
However I need to work on making that subnet quieter for my mobile devices, especially phone, as unsolicited broadcasts have a significant impact on power consumption (android, wlan_rx wakelocks). Sniffing needed.
A question -- can I configure the sonos controller to target a specific IP address to connect to?
I did try connecting teh device direct to sonosnet but each time I tried after a few hours the connection stalled (S4, android 4.3), whilst regular wifi is fine. I'm assumnig though this wifi net is bridged in any case so broadcasts would still occur.
What kind of traffic does sonos cause itself either as broadcasts on the network, or chit-chat to the controller, especially when the controller is not in the foreground? Is there a way of limiting this
