We have just purchased a matt black sub (love the colour, well worth the wait!) and went for a Soundbar at the same time.
In order to get full 5.1 surround sound it seems we need to use a pair of S3s (sorry Play 3s) paired up to the Soundbar and Sub.
However I had a "sound idea" why not just use the exisiting ZP100 from our living room rather than a pair of S3s? I cannot see any good reason why this could not be done via software, after all if a Soundbar, Sub and 2 x Play 3s can be linked up why not a Soundbar, Sub and a Connect Amp (or ZP100/ZP120)?
Of course the current requirement for 2 x S3s does mean more sales for Sonos but that is not a good reason not to enable a Connect Amp is it?
