Airplay or Bluetooth for the least video sync issues

I’m about to setup a Sonos system as follows :

Dining Room : Sonos Connect Amp wired into a pair of Rega Kyte speakers, wired into my router and wired in an Airport Express to support Airplay.
Conservatory : Sonos Play 5, wireless.

I use the conservatory to sit and watch lots of catch up TV using the BBC iPlayer app on an iPad. I plan to Airplay the audio to the Airport Express and root the audio to the Play 5 in the conservatory.

Having done some reading it sounds like I am going to experience audio/video sync issues with audio arriving late (so will not be fixable by adding audio delay). I understand I will be able to reduce this delay by configuring the Sonos audio compression setting to uncompressed and selecting a line-in source name other than Level 4(AirPlay) as for this this option Sonos adds a 500ms audio delay, but instead use another line-in Source option such as Level 5 which I understand will revert to the standard 70ms delay.

My question is, will these tweaks reduce the audio delay sufficiently so that video/audio sync issues are at an acceptable level when watching catch up TV on the iPad with the audio AirPlayed?

The alternative is to forget the Airport Express and instead use a good quality Bluetooth receiver in the dining room with its line out signal fed into the Sonos Connect Amp. With this setup I could still watch catch up TV on my iPad in the conservatory, but instead of Airplaying the audio I would Bluetooth the audio to the BT receiver/Sonos.

Which setup (Airplay or Bluetooth) is likely to minimise video/audio sync issues?

Thanks :)
