Hallo zusammen

I am considering improving our tv set's tinny sound with a Playbar first, maybe a Sub and additional Play3s later.
As far as I understood it, the Sub & Play3s may be paired to the Playbar to create a full 5.1 set. However, what about regular music playback, which happens more often with our setup than 5.1 movies. Do I need to re-configure the pairing each time, playback switches from TV sound to music or is this handled automatically?
Thanks,
Helge.

This might be me having a blonde moment !
When I am watching tv and have the sound coming through the soundbar, in my TV menu I change the sound output to external, this all works fine thus far.
If I want to then just have the sound coming from the TV speakers and not the soundbar, I go into TV menu and change back to TV.
BUT, the sound still comes from the soundbar as well, How do I stop the soundbar ?
I use an ipad for the Sonos remote but there is no "stop tv" button.
What I tend to do is play a song to stop the TV sound then immediately pause the song.
There must be a simpler way???

Hi - I see that there are a few Deezer threads on here so I thought I'd give it a try.
I signed up for a free 3 month trial before continuing subscription however I have had a big problem with Deezer and I'd like to know what you all think. I use Deezer on the iPhone.
I happily synced a load of albums and was listening away while I was abroad. However, one time the playback stopped - so I went into the app and it looked like two songs were playing at once (ie. the little graphic indicating which song is playing was covering 2x songs at the same time). I pressed the 'back' button and it went to the synced album list screen but this was blank and it said I had no synced music.
In iTunes I have some gigabytes of "Other" memory which I can't explain - I suspect this might be "lost" music from Deezer.
Any idea what happened here?

I'm trying to play the music lately downloaded to my android nexus 7, however, the track listed under "this mobile device" is not uptodate. Are there way I can refresh the list or can I manually add the downloaded song to the list?

Hey folks, so I was under the impression that the Sonos 5 could operate as an external speaker to a TV.
The LGTV I have only allows external speakers to be connected via the digital optical out, so I purchased a digital optical out/3.5mm cable. I've connected the two together, turned off the TV speaker, and no matter what I do, I can't get the TV to play the sound through the Sonos 5.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong here? For reference, the TV is an LGTVLW5600
Thanks!

So I just installed a Boost in my house. It doesn't appear to have solved any of my networking problems, still getting dropouts.
What I don't understand is when I go to /support/review and look at the Network Matrix, the Boost called "Downstairs Boost" and doesn't show that it is connecting to anything, even the two devices within 10 feet of it.
What's up with that?
Also, is there a way to force BOOST as the controller? I looked at /status/showstp, and it certainly isn't the new BOOST, in the "designated root" part...
Actually weird, as even with the BOOST on, the "controller" for most of the devices was a DirecTV Genie Go that's a pretty useless piece of equipment, so I turned if off.
Then it jumped to become my older BRIDGE, which I repurposed.
I just turned THAT off, and now it is finally finding the BOOST and making that ROOT.
So I guess this is more of a "beware of DirecTV Genie GO" if you have one, and you should figure out how to make the Boost designated root by default. Not sure what else I'm doing wrong here, but probably more to come.

Yesterday I got my Connect and I added it immediately to my Denon AV-Receiver by optical cable. I have now the following problem:
Loudness is much too low. When I'm watching movies (blu-ray) I have the volume control set to 39 db which gives my a quite loud sound. My blu-ray player is connected to my rceiver via HDMI. but at this volume level I hardly hear music with my Connect.
I have to turn the volume to max at my Sonos android app an turn the volume at my receiver to 80 to have nearly the same volume as with blu-rays.
Don't think that this is normal, isn't it? Problem is, if I forget to turn down the volume after listening to music and watch a movie my neighbours will call the police.:D
I had TV connected to my receiver by optical cable at the same port before and loudness were fine.
Any tip?

I have a Play1 and a Play3 connected via a Netgear N600 router.
They are CAT6 connected as we are in a large old house (thick granite is no use for wifi).
When either unit is connected alone (and the other a few feet away working wireless) all is Ok.
However as soon as I connect the other unit via cable my router dies and has to be reset. I have tried different router ports and different cables with the same result.
I have tried connecting one sonos and a second laptop to the router to eliminate router issues - all work fine.
I need to connect them via CAT6 because of the house layout and size (and thick granite walls)
So can anyone advise as to what is happening and how to overcome it.
I was hoping to add a sonos:Connect unit, but am reluctant to pay out to find I have even more problems.
Thanks
Peter

Thomas ;)

The payment method for my Spotify premium service expired and I didn't change it because I just want the free Spotify version. Now I'm trying to play my Spotify playlist in the Sonos app. It keeps saying ...
"Spotify on Sonos requires a Spotify Premium Account. Upgrade at..."
Is it true? Do I need a premium acct to play Spotify on Sonos now?
Note: I'm using version 5.2.

I live in an apartment where the kitchen/small dining room/ and living room are all essentially 1 big open area. Here is my setup:
- a Play 3 in the kitchen.
- a Play 3 in the small dining room.
- a Playbar in the living room
I am excited to add a Sonos Sub to this equation and I thought I would place it right on the border of Living Room / Dining Room. This would allow the Sub to reach all three zones: Living|Dining|Kitchen
The question I have is this:
For music purposes would it make sense to pair the sub to the Playbar or to the Stereo Paired Play 3s? Honestly, I wish the Sub could stand alone, but since I have to pair it with something I don't know which would sound better.
Since it is a small place I don't have the luxury to play different songs in different rooms. Instead I play one song across all speakers. I have read articles that when you pair a sub to a stereo pair 3's, the sub frees up the mid-range from the 3's.
Has anyone experimented with a setup such as I am describing? I will be sure to post my findings once the Sub arrives!!

So I've just moved all my mp3's, about 93Gigs, from my laptop to a 2 TB WD My Cloud. I made a separate folder - //WDmycloud/music to store them. When I open the Sonos controller and browse that folder I get "No selections are available".
Up to this point I had no problems playing back mp3s from my laptop to the Sonos.
